i am a kid at heart.

And why not?

Let go of any inhibitons, bang some fuckin' pots and pans, run around and pretend to be an aeroplane, laugh at silly things and don't worry about lame adult stuff.
Who really will notice if your shoes don't match your hand bag, or if you forgot to make your bed?

Do it, it's fun.

7 Feb 2012

i am waiting.

The suns warm my left cheek and the breeze is chilling my right.
There's 3 helicopter's hovering up ahead, not sure quite what they're doing. Catching a crim' perhaps?

I can hear the high-pitched gritting screech of the G train to my right, and the roar and rumble of the over-sized SUV's on the motor-way straight ahead. Behind me the flakey, wrinkled leaves are rustling in the gusts of cold, New Yawk wind.

It's 12.57pm and the Williamsburg Public Library will be open in 3 minutes.

I want to face the sun directly so both my cheeks will be warm from the sun.

These beauties are all the street art that yelled out to me in Rio De Janeiro

i am smiling.

It's a crispy sun-shining day in New Yawk.
How funny is that, I'm in New York, the one and only, and I'm still blabbing on about Brazil.
I'm so easily impressed. It's great, I never get bored!
I can't wait to explore more in the Big Apple, meet some new exploring buddies and get amongst the art scene.
What a contrast to Manaus City this place is, for one it doesn't smell like rotten fish, and perhaps not as much blatant staring. And definitely not as hot. My tans fading.
Perhaps it's time for a caw-fee in the sun, New Yawk style.

i am lovesick.

Good morning sunshine! 5AM on the Amazon River

Oh dear dear Brazil, you have found a place in my heart and there you will stay.
I feel like such an ignorant tourist when I generalise Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon as being the most inspiring, breath-taking special thing I have seen, but that's truely how I feel

I feel homesick and have a longing when I look through my photos of this buzzing country
That month in Brazil went waaay to god damn quick!

I don't think I will forget the freaking cool, quirky people I met. Nor the loud, bustling, smelly cities, NOR the special, untouched jungle. (Just casually, the AMAZON JUNGLE.)

We spent our last 2 weeks in the jungle. The silence was washed out by defening sounds of bugs, frogs, birds and monkies. Trees stretch further than anyone can see, in all directions. The river was warm and murky, god knows what creepy crawleys were at the bottom.

It makes you realise how insignificant humans are, and also makes you angry that humans have destroyed so many beautiful natural forests just like the Amazon.
There were small families sprinkled throughout the dense, unforgiving jungle.

They survive on the bare minimum, but are content all the same.
They wouldn't give a shit about they're hair, the pointless gossipy crap, or the latest trends

I've decided I will marry a native Indian Amazonian, or a half-cast (what they call Cobacolo's) not because they're all ridaculously beautifully fit, but because they work with the land, and understand it.
Well, it's free to dream right?

Alexa and mine's luxury hotel suite. We had a gorgeous wee boat all to ourselves, and were treated like the princesses we are NOT

12 Dec 2011

Oh em gee.
So I am now living in America for a year..starting...now.
After four days the squirrels, accents and hu-mungo portions of food are starting to sink in (my poor pot belly)
What isn't sinking in is the whole other-side-of-the-road driving thang

I'm lovin' it (haha..) though. Change is good.
The best part is experiencing it with my best friend, having someone by your side to gawk and gasp at things with you helps.

Next on the list is Brazil in a week, ahhhh!
Holy shit New Zealand and lil' old Waiheke seems like another world away
